Ghassan Ahmed Al Sulaiman Furniture Trading, “IKEA Saudi Arabia,” reinforced its support for education through its Soft Toy for Education campaign, which ran from November 2015 to 15th January 2016. In its third year, the campaign has achieved great success garnering SR 350,000 for the Disabled Children’s Association (DCA).
To celebrate the achievements of this year’s campaign, a morning of entertainment was organized for the children of DCA. Media personnel were also present, where they witnessed the cheque handling ceremony and also took part in a round table, discussing the success of the campaign with IKEA Saudi Arabia’s CEO, Saud Al Sulaiman, and the Director of the DCA, Dr. Zuhair Abdulraheem Maimani.
Saud Al Sulaiman, CEO of IKEA Saudi Arabia expressed his gratitude to the Saudi society for their continuous support and generosity and said: "Through this campaign we believe that we have achieved our ultimate goal by encouraging the community to interact with initiatives that aim to instill social solidarity and values. We are extremely proud of the response we received in this year’s campaign, which will ultimately provide the children with the tools needed for a better future."

Dr Zuhair Maimani, Director of the Disabled Children's Association, expressed his gratitude for the continued support provided by IKEA Saudi Arabia, stating: "This effective partnership with IKEA Saudi Arabia which has enabled us to make a lasting difference in unlocking a brighter future for the children at DCA. The Soft Toy for Education campaign has certainly played a major role in supporting these precious children, which reconfirms the great impact the campaign has had since inception.”
“This proactive initiative has gained the interest of Prince Sultan bin Salman, the Chairman of DCA. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thank you to IKEA customers who contributed to the success of this campaign.” He added.
Throughout the past thirty years, IKEA Saudi Arabia has established a strong relationship with its customers, and the community as a whole. IKEA Saudi Arabia feels a great responsibility towards the local community, which has pushed it to partner with local organizations and government entities to provide support to the Saudi community.
During its first year, the Soft Toy for Education campaign raised SAR250,000 and this number increased to SAR 300,000 in its second year. IKEA Saudi Arabia is continuously committed to giving back to the community, with the help of its customers. IKEA Saudi Arabia also encouraged its staff across the Kingdom to give their utmost efforts to guarantee the success of this campaign, which contributed to the sale of 137,000 soft toys.
