The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has embarked on a program to tap leadership qualities among its young workforce to achieve the Vision 2030 goals.
To this end, the ministry is taking initiatives like organizing workshops and launching projects to zero in on people with leadership skills.
The initiative, “Discover leadership,” is aimed at meeting the requirements of the National Transformation Program 2020 and Vision 2030, said a report. The move is aimed at empowering the youth to take up leadership positions.
These workshops, started in the presence of Minister of Labor and Social Development Mufrej Al-Haqabani, will implement the decision taken in June to give opportunities in the leadership positions in the ministry to the deserving. The ministry has written to all its male and female employees to showcase their leadership skills.
In his address to the first group of participants at the workshop, Al-Haqabani said the ministry is trying to develop the skills of its employees and encourage them to take up leadership positions.
“The participants of these workshops would shape the future of the ministry, provided they have accurate knowledge and skills and level of thinking and work,” he said.
The minister said there is a possibility of making an excellent model of governance, from which other government organizations can learn.
Experts are running these workshops and discussing major features of the strategic guidelines of the plan, initiatives and prospective roles of all sectors.
A number of sessions are being organized as part of the workshop to provide participants with the required knowledge and skills which may help in improving their leadership skills.
After a number of activities, a test will be conducted to give the participants a chance to showcase their leadership skills.
