The General Authority for Competition (GAC) brought charges against several car agents and distributors, deciding to file criminal cases against 43 establishments in the sector and 24 in other segments. It will also hold investigations into the collusion of eight establishments for SAR 600 million in manufacturing industries.
GAC showed investigation results in the car, spare parts and post-sale services market. As many as 128 probes were launched against 70 establishments. Criminal cases were filed against 43 establishments, with investigations continuing in the sector. GAC also approved settlement requests from four entities after studying the investigation results in the contracting sector.
Nine entities were required to correct their situation and stop price collusion. GAC will also reactivate criminal cases against three establishments suspected of violating the competition law.
Investigations also showed that five entities were suspected of collusion to submit tenders for some projects of the Ministry of Health at a total value of SAR 432,800.
Further, eight establishments colluded to submit tenders for SAR 600 million manufacturing projects.
