Free Fire and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang set for grand finals at the Esports World Cup

The Esports World Cup concludes its second week of elite competition on Sunday with grand finals in Free Fire and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Running until August 25 at Boulevard Riyadh City, the eight-week long Esports World Cup reached the semi-final stage of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on Saturday. Team Falcons AP Bren earned their place in the showpiece occasion by beating Liquid Echo 3-1. They face Selangor Red Giants, who beat NIP Flash 3-0, in the final.

Selangor Red Giants player Kramm said: “I am happy and proud of our team because this is our first season in international and we’ve got to the final. We had good teamwork and we clicked. We had clear communication.”

Asked what was needed to beat Team Falcons AP Bren in the final, Kramm replied: “We need to focus on ourselves in the final. We focus on our team play and communication – we don’t think about our enemy. We focus on ourselves. This is a big world tournament and it’s incredible; the venue, the fans, everything.”

Free Fire reached the Point-rush stage of competition on Saturday. LOUD, Buriram United Esports and Team Falcons all scored well in the knockout stages.

The Esports World Cup’s Dota2 Riyadh Masters final takes place on Sunday July 21. In a fascinating tournament, Tundra Esports and Gaming Gladiators have shown good form in the competition so far.

The Esports World Cup features a unique cross-game structure pitting the world’s top clubs and players against one another across 22 global competitions in 21 leading games.

More than 1,500 players, representing over 60 nationalities, are battling it out for their share of the $60 million prize pool – the largest in the history of esports.
