flynas signs agreement to buy 160 Airbus aircraft

Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost carrier flynassigned an agreement with Airbus to buy 160 new aircraft, increasing its total orders to 280 over seven years, which marks one of the largest aircraft orders in the region.

According to the agreement, flynas confirmed that the 160 aircraft include 90 firm orders consisting of 15 wide-body A330neo aircraft and 75 single-aisle aircraft from the A320 family. Additionally, there are 70 purchase rights, including 15 wide-body A330neo aircraft and 55 single-aisle aircraft.

Bander Al-Mohanna, CEO and Managing Director of flynas, said that this deal is the first with Airbus to include wide-body A330neo aircraft, which are scheduled to begin delivery in the first quarter of 2027. The goal is to reach new markets and destinations and increase seating capacity.

The low-cost carrier signed an agreement with Airbus in June 2023 to purchase 30 new A320neo aircraft worth over SAR 14 billion, as part of a larger order of 120 aircraft worth over SAR 32 billion.
