FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), and the world’s largest express transportation company, has introduced two new healthcare solutions in the Middle East which improve the way temperature-sensitive shipments are handled. These temperature-controlled packaging solutions are being featured at the Third Annual MENA Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Forum.
FedEx Cold Shipping Solutions include cold shipping packaging for goods requiring a refrigerated environment and can maintain a temperature of 2-8° Celsius for up to 96 hours. This cold shipping packaging is designed to be easy to use, reliable, cost-effective and environmentally-friendly for healthcare industry use.
FedEx Deep Frozen Shipping Solutions use liquid nitrogen dry vapor technology to maintain a temperature of below -150° Celsius for up to 10 days. These solutions remove the need for hazardous materials certification and eliminate dry ice packaging. FedEx Deep Frozen Shipping Solutions also offer reduced environmental impact.
Through its temperature-controlled packaging solutions, FedEx Express provides customers a safe and reliable option for transporting biogenetics, biomaterials and any other sensitive shipments to more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.
“As the healthcare industry in the Middle East is forecasted to grow to USD 71 billion by 2020, we can expect a simultaneous increased demand in moving sensitive goods. Launching two temperature-controlled packaging solutions in the region enables us to cater to this growing market with innovative solutions that truly transform the healthcare logistics,” said Patrick Charles, vice president, Sales, FedEx Express Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.
FedEx temperature-controlled packaging solutions can be found at the FedEx booth 13 during the 3rd Annual MENA Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Forum, which will take place at Dubai Raffle from May 24-25, 2016.
