Daikin Receives First QCC Certification for High Ambient R32 Inverter Split

Daikin is proud to announce that the first High Ambient R32 Split Air Conditioner successively received the Abu Dhabi Trustmark for Environmental Performance in a ceremony at the Abu Dhabi Quality Conformity Council (QCC).

QCC, the entity responsible for developing quality infrastructure and raising awareness on quality standards in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, unveiled the Unitary Air Conditioners Certification Scheme which defines minimum energy performance standards and technical requirements for unitary air conditioners used across villas, apartment buildings and office buildings in Abu Dhabi.

Ryoji Sano, President of Daikin Middle East and Africa said “Daikin is proud to receive the Abu Dhabi Trust Mark for Environmental Performance for its high efficiency inverter driven split system using the low global warming potential R-32 refrigerant designed for the high ambient conditions in the region. We express our gratitude to QCC and support their leadership in prequalifying high efficiency systems for Abu Dhabi’s villas and buildings.”

Congratulating Daikin on receiving the certification, Mohammed Helal Al Balooshi, Director of Marketing & Communications at Abu Dhabi QCC, said “QCC is delighted to collaborate with manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of unitary air conditioners to obtain voluntary certification of products that meet our quality, safety and performance specifications. We launched the Unitary Air Conditioners Certification Scheme as part of our priority to promote the use of safe, high quality and energy efficiency air conditioning equipment with zero impact on the ozone layer and minimal power consumption.”

“The unique combination of R32 and inverter technology in the new Daikin air conditioner range offers end-users the opportunity to benefit from class-leading energy efficiencies that can provide up to 40% power savings versus conventional non-inverter systems, with excellent cooling capacity and high indoor climate comfort, while lowering the environmental impact,” said Sana Hamdani, Product Marketing Manager of Daikin Middle East & Africa.

By incorporating the best available technologies, these units built in Daikin Thailand factories offer the best nominal and seasonal efficiencies in line with real-life Middle East operating conditions. They can achieve high Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) (Btu/kWh) in cooling up to 13.3 at T1 conditions (35°C) and up to 8.6 at T3 conditions (46°C), exceeding the most stringent regulations of the region and making them the most energy efficient air conditioner of their type in the market.

Additionally, the Daikin made tropical compressor is capable of operating fully in extreme weather conditions of at least 52°C and delivering a powerful year-round cooling performance regardless of the outside temperature, and is up to 1.5 times faster than traditional systems.

R32, a chlorine-free, single-component refrigerant, has a global warming potential of about one-third compared to the more commonly used refrigerant R410A. Up to 15% less refrigerant is needed compared to an equivalent air conditioner system with R410A.

Previously in 2015, the product had received both ESMA and SASO certifications, along with other new products launched, which are specifically designed to meet the high ambient conditions of the region.
