Committee formed to implement King's youth funding program

In implementation of the Royal directives to develop an integrated funding program to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for young people, Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, decided to form a steering committee, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State, Rajai Muasher.

Throughout the preparation phase aimed for the program's rapid launch, the committee will develop a regulatory framework that sets out the basis for the partnership with banks wishing to take part in this funding program, the target groups, the funding mechanism, and eligibility criteria.

As an initial, concrete step, the committee will also prepare and implement awareness campaigns to introduce the self-employment financing program to encourage the target groups of young people to benefit from the training and funding opportunities, to launch "productive and sustainable" projects.

During a meeting with entrepreneurial youth last week, His Majesty King Abdullah II, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, directed the government to develop a funding program, which provides easy financing, technical support and training, in accordance with clear and transparent criteria to enable youth to launch SMSs and create job opportunities.
