Civil Defense personnel to use electric scooters in Jamrat

Brig. Gen. Nasser Al-Nahari, Commander of the Civil Defense forces in Jamarat, has revealed that electric scooters will be used by Civil Defense Personnel during the Haj season in order to ensure the fast movement of all Haj pilgrims in the Jamrat area for their safety and security, according to online sources.

He noted that these scooter systems would allow people to reach important sites, such as the sites of Rami, or stone pelting areas, swiftly and without any obstacles.
Al-Nahari said that the Civil Defense personnel, as part of their daily comprehensive training program, had already been trained to use these scooters before being deployed in Jamrat. The training was aimed at preparing them in rescue and medical evacuation operations in case of any emergencies that may occur, from the tenth night of Dul Hijjah until the days of Tashreeq.

He said that the preparations within the Civil Defense Forces for Jamrat included practical trainings to deal with any incidents such as people falling from escalators, people getting caught in a rush of movement among other people, as well as to help transfer any person who may have been injured at an accident site to a place where they can obtain medical help.
He further noted that the Civil Defense personnel have also been trained to undertake relevant assistance duties, if required, in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalfah, as well as in three railway stations of Mina.
