BIFM, the professional body for facilities management and FM EXPO have launched the initial phase of the Facilities Management Business Confidence Monitor (BCM) 2016 for the Middle East. This follows last year’s inaugural Middle East BCM which provided an assessment and measure of facilities management (FM) industry confidence and prospects across the region.
The initial survey will run until 28th April and is open to all those working in the FM industry and wider profession.
“The results from 2015 highlighted a positive outlook within the market as the FM industry continued to develop in this part of the world. This was seen in expectations for growth in business turnover and in the opportunity and appetite for future training and qualifications. Therefore this year’s survey will track those forecasts and look to identify the challenges and opportunities for the year ahead.” said Peter Brogan, Research and Information Manager at BIFM.
As well as a survey, the BCM research will also be supported by a series of interviews. The aim is to establish a complete view of FM market confidence by canvassing the views of the sector’s senior decision makers as well as the teams on the ground delivering those services throughout the Middle East.
By doing so the BCM 2016 intends to provide an accurate and authentic forecast of overall business confidence for the next 12 months within the market. As the industry has developed and continues to develop in the region, assessing its progress will be an important part of shaping its future. Therefore, this year’s survey will also build on the findings of the BCM 2015 and start to look at future trends.
FM EXPO organiser, Jafaar Shubber said: “We look forward to working again with BIFM on this highly important initiative. We believe that the results will provide relevant insights into the value and perception of FM across the Middle East in the current market condition. The BCM 2016 complements our goal of furthering the entire regional sector by providing a global platform for professionals from various FM disciplines to discuss currents trends and best practices. We are excited to see the outcome of this initiative and accordingly implement important measures that will further drive industry growth.”
The results of the Business Confidence Monitor will be announced at the FM EXPO, 23-25 May, at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE.
