BARÇA-MADRID, IN THE CLOUDS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER


COLLABORATION BETWEEN MEDIAPRO &TURKISH AIRLINES TO BROADCAST THE MATCH ON THE FLAG CARRIER’S FLEET OF PLANES

MEDIAPRO set to provide the signal for the clash to channels all around the world in 4k quality.
300 professionals, 10 OB vans and more than 30 camera crews will offer the very best match coverage.

Interest in the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid is set to go that step further with the cooperation between Turkish Airlines and MEDIAPRO to broadcast the match live on the airline’s flights. Worldwide interest in Spain’s LFP continues to grow, matching that generated by other major sporting competitions around the globe. This ‘Clásico’ will be the very first LFP (La Liga) match to be broadcast live on board during a flight on an aircraft at upto 30,000 feet high. The airline, which is a member of the Star Alliance, operates flights to 5 continents as well as to several Spanish cities. The Barça-Madrid clash will be available live on around 17 intercontinental flights as can be seen in details on the below chart;

In addition, for the second season in a row, the signal will be distributed in 4K Ultra HD, the very best picture quality capable of capturing every minute detail of the game thanks to its augmented reality and 'Super Zoom' features. The initiative adds value to the Liga broadcasts and bolsters the TV quality experience of one of the most-watched sporting events in the entire world.

The excellent match schedule for the American continent means that this match is expected to reach record audiences. As such, the Barça-Madrid clash will be live seen in Miami at 4 pm, 3 pm in Bogota, in Mexico City at 2pm and in Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro at 5 pm.

The match with global appeal

The clash can be followed live worldwide and several international networks have requested the personalized signal distributed by MEDIAPRO. Direct TV, Canal+ Poland, beIN Sports Arabic, beIN Sports USA and beIN Sports France will all have their teams on the ground in Barcelona to for the pre and post-match hook ups

This will be the first time the Swedish channel TV4 customize their signal from Camp Nou in a match between these two teams to provide all the details and exclusive footage to their viewers before, during and after the game.

In order to offer the very best broadcast possible, at a national as well as an international level, more than 300 professionals will be on hand (producers, directors, floor managers, technicians…), 10 OB vans and a team of more than 30 camera crews will be on the ground in Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium.

3 Super Slow Motion cameras have been drafted in to offer spectators the most spectacular replay footage imaginable, two goal line cameras to check whether the ball has crossed the line or not, a Beauty camera for spectacular elevated views of the stadium, a Travelling camera will provide lateral views and a High Velocity Pole Mini Cam positioned behind one of the goals set to capture fresh and difficult angles that would ordinarily be difficult to see in order to offer viewers around the globe an enhanced viewing experience.

A fresh perspective

With the upcoming match in mind, MEDIAPRO produced the special ‘Clásico, pese a todo’ (“The Clasico, despite everything”, documentary using previously unseen and exclusive footage from the last Madrid-Barça clash. Networks such as SKY Brazil, ESPN STAR (Asia), Canal+ Poland, TV4 Sweden, NTV Russia, M-Net South Africa, Belgacom, SKY Mexico and beIN Sports USA have all availed of the opportunity to allow their viewers to enjoy the documentary.

This production sets out to demonstrate just how this particular clash is capable of halting the activity of millions of people in their tracks all around the globe.
