The Saudi Arabia chapter of American College of Surgeons [ACS] - a scientific and educational association of surgeons founded in 1913 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, has announced plans to host a Scientific Medical Congress in Dubai from September 26 to 28, 2016.
The Congress, to be sponsored by Dubai-based Medical Arts Clinic, will be held at Rotana Amwaj – Jumeirah Beach Road and is aimed at bringing together experts from various specialities of surgery to present the most recent medical practices.
This is the first-of-its-kind Congress organised in the GCC by the American College of Surgeons, which is the most prestigious surgical college in the world with a history that extends beyond 100 years and memberships throughout the world.
Dr David Richardson, President of ACS, will present the presidential and keynote speech at the Congress, which will also include address by Dr Khalid Mohammed Al Shaibani, Deputy Minister of Health of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who will present the vision of the Minister of Health in the country.
Dr Jamal Jomah, the Governor of the Saudi Chapter of ACS and a renowned plastic surgeon, said: “The Congress in Dubai is a milestone event, and will bring some of the eminent international surgeons on a common platform. The Congress will encompass a number of different forums, focusing on cancer, breast, endocrine, paediatric, vascular and plastic surgery among others.”
The Congress will also include a special one-day workshop sessionon education, quality control, patient safety in accordance with the standards of the American College of Surgeons, and learn from the international best practices in the medical field.
