Alkhorayef selected as Rayis-Rabigh water transmission pipelines project developer

Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Co. (AWPT) announced, on July 24, that company’s consortium was selected by the Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) as a preferred developer for the independent Rayis-Rabigh water transmission pipelines project, with a revised tariff of SAR 1.25678 per cubic meter.

 

 

 

In a statement to Tadawul, AWPT pointed out that Rayis-Rabigh water transmission pipelines project is the first in kind across the Kingdom based on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) system.

 

 

 

The project's transmission capacity is 500,000 cubic meters per day, exending over 150 kilometer pipelines length, to supply Makkah and Madinah with potable water.

 

 

 

AWPT will work with the relevant stakeholders for the financial closure of the project, expecting the completion of construction work and the start of commercial operation by the first quarter of 2026 for a period of 35 years.

 

 

 

Alkhorayef owns 50% of the consortium, the statement noted, adding that there are no related parties to this deal.

 

 

 

Any developments will be announced in due course, Alkhorayef affirmed, stating that the start date of the financial impact of the project will be disclosed upon the contract signing completion.
