Meltwater, the global media intelligence platform, now gives customers access to aggregated, anonymous Facebook topic data through a new information-sharing partnership with DataSift, a company that enables extracting insights from conversations on social media. This partnership allows marketers to find out what their customers and prospects are reacting to on Facebook, which brands, campaigns or events are attracting their attention. The data is anonymous, thus respecting the privacy of Facebook users. It is available in 11 languages for 139 countries across the globe including the Middle Eastern countries.
According to Zubair Timol, Area Director for India, Middle East & Africa at Meltwater, “More than 80% of Middle East social media users are on Facebook which makes it a datamine of information for marketers in the region. Our new service enables them to access this data to make informed decisions about how they market their products and services on Facebook and other channels. By delivering these ‘Outside Insights’ to marketers, we help shape their business strategies to compete and grow.”
The new Meltwater service has been designed to deliver insights into specific activities, events, brand names, and other subjects that people are sharing on Facebook. The service includes rich metadata for analytics, with over 60 attributes to filter and analyze content, topics, hashtags and links. Additionally, every piece of data comes with attached demographic data including gender, age and location.
Meltwater, an industry pioneer with 50 offices on six continents, is the market’s most comprehensive media intelligence platform. The company’s business customers use deep insights to manage their brands, understand competition, and keep on top of industry trends. The media monitoring, social media monitoring, and media intelligence products from Meltwater deliver those insights, helping these companies make better and more informed decisions.
“DataSift gives companies the ability to gain valuable insight from the wealth of information now available to them and make informed business decisions,” said Tim Barker, CEO at DataSift. “Facebook topic data provides businesses with a more in-depth understanding of what their key audiences are sharing and engaging around on the world’s largest social platform in a privacy-safe way.
