Dubai Courts review the results of the “Fi Al Shofa” initiative as part of its efforts to promote social justice in line with Dubai Social Agenda 33 to support elder citizens and people of determination

Dubai Courts announced the results of the “Fi Al Shofa” Initiative, which was launched last July, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote social justice and provide easy judicial services to elder citizens and people of determination. This Initiative is part of the Dubai Courts’ strategy to achieve sustainable development goals and provide innovative judicial services in line with Dubai Social Agenda 33, which seeks to build an integrated and sustainable society.

 

In this context, Mohammed Al Obaidli, Executive Director of the Case Management Sector at Dubai Courts, explained that the launch of the “Fi Al Shofa” service package embodies the Dubai Courts’ deep commitment to achieving social justice. He stressed that this initiative is not just a step towards developing judicial services, but rather an integral part of the department’s strategy to promote social sustainability and provide a role model in providing an integrated judicial environment that includes all segments of society.

 

 Al Obaidli added “This initiative is in line with the aspirations of our wise leadership, which always emphasizes the importance of integrating the values ​​of justice and equality into all aspects of daily life, which contributes to creating a cohesive society that supports all its members and enhances their opportunities to achieve well-being. We are committed to support the leadership’s vision of building a bright future where justice and legal services are accessible to all.” His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, affirmed that the health, comfort, and social and psychological stability of elder citizens are among the goals that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, includes with all interest and care, which is evident in His Highness’s constant directives to provide everything that would guarantee elder citizens the best forms of decent living in appreciation of their efforts and giving to their homeland, the UAE.

 

The results achieved so far show that the initiative has achieved remarkable success, as 210 various services were provided to elders and people of determination. The services were distributed as follows: 32 people benefited from the “Shoor” service, including 17 elders and 15 people of determination, while 16 people received the “Sanad” service, including 11 elders and 5 people of determination. The “Qareeb” service was provided to 53 beneficiaries, including 29 elders and 24 people of determination. The “Aoun” service was also provided to one elder beneficiary, while 76 people benefited from the “Adheed” services, including 57 elders and 19 people of determination., while the postponement and exemption from fees service were provided to 22 people, including 12 elders and 10 people of determination.

 

As part of promoting the efforts of the Dubai Courts Department to promote social justice, a series of introductory meetings were held with law firms and experts on the “Fi Al Shofa” initiative. Meetings were held with 20 law firms, where the mechanism for applying for legal services was explained. Meetings were also held with 15 expert offices to explain how to submit applications, with emphasis on the need for the applicant to be of limited or insolvent income, as law firms must submit a preliminary report to assess the feasibility of registering the case.

 

To facilitate access to services, special parking spaces have been allocated for targeted customers in the main building, the Personal Status Building and Execution Building. In addition, an option has been added to the call center system that allows beneficiaries of the “Fi Al Shofa” initiative a faster path than other calls, reflecting the department’s commitment to provide efficient and fast services that meet the needs of all customers.

 

Al Obaidli pointed out that this initiative confirms the commitment of Dubai Courts to promote the social justice and providing services that meet the aspirations of society, which contributes to improving the quality of life for nationals and residents. It is also an additional step towards achieving Dubai’s vision of building a society characterized by justice and equality, and enhancing the rights of elders and people of determination.
