Washmen launches state-of-the-art facility in Dubai

After spending 18 months in R&D, scouring the world’s 20 best laundries (from traditional leaders in quality from France and Germany to tech pioneers in Singapore, South Korea and China), the Washmen team’s quest to provide the best laundry service in the world is coming to a crescendo.

It’s a testament to the team’s hard work and it’s just a great feeling.” 

Most people think laundry is a dull affair. And whilst the Washmen team acknowledges this widely held sentiment, when it is done with the level of care and technological sophistication seen at their 30,000 SQFT facility, they’re confident that those same people can’t help but be impressed.

Over the last 4 years, Washmen has risen to the top of the laundry space through its focus on customer experience, logistics and digital user experience. But with this new launch, Washmen’s historical value propositions are set to be overshadowed as its plethora of unique innovations drives its service level to the pinnacle of the industry in 2020.

To name a few examples of the (globally!) unique features that Washmen now boasts:

• WetCare(R)  technology - Miele’s WetCare technology, a recently adopted clean-tech globally but one that is only just reaching the UAE, is a patented process designed to completely mimic the mechanics of hand-washing garments in cold water, providing the ultimate level of care possible, extending the lifetime of a garment by up to 50%.
• Air Dry technology - Unlike at any other laundry in the UAE, items are air dried when they’re sent to Washmen. Air dried. There’s a reason why mothers prefer to air dry clothes at home. Put simply, they last longer and maintain texture for up to 30% longer than when put through machine dryers.
• Steam pressing - Whilst at home, and at most laundries, most people use a hot plate iron to press their clothes, Washmen doesn’t. Using 100% steam, Washmen ensures clothes’ colours and textures last longer.
• Unique QR coding of every. single. item.- Washmen captures every visit an item makes to the facility; how many washes it has had and which of their 50+ washing programs it has been through each time, (soon) allowing customers to see the history of their wardrobe with a quick scan from your smartphone.
• RFID technology - Each item is tagged with an RFID chip when it enters the facility. This allows its movement to be pinpointed at all times. Couple that with OculiTM - Washmen’s proprietary network of 100+ sensor-activated cameras - and customers able to watch their item’s journey from beginning to end.

This is all in addition to the usage of cutting edge stain removal, excellent customer service and a team of over 150 washmen working tirelessly behind the scenes to do things right. The Washmen team also offers a free recycling service that collects all your recyclables from customers.

When asked what he hoped all this investment and development would achieve, Rami’s response was simple. “We’re not ‘just a laundry. We’ve invested a lot into doing what’s best for our customers and their most important belongings. I just want people to feel that.”
