King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, represented by Badir program for technology incubators and accelerators, has announced that it will start receiving applications for candidature in order to participate in the training bootcamp to be held in Riyadh and Al Qassim in mid-April, which aims to accelerate the growth of start-ups and develop the culture of entrepreneurship for youth as well as assist to attract funding for tech start-ups.

 

The training bootcamp which will last for five days in each region will include lectures, training programs, workshops and special sessions on topics related to the creation of new tech companies, how to effectively present ideas to investors and to highlight the finance and its conditions as well as to refer to business models that include live examples of reality for leading companies at the regional level.

 

In order to accept applications for candidature, the ideas of advanced projects must be able to contribute to find executable solutions to some problems in society and the idea must be innovative and unique and has the components of excellence for similar ideas as the idea should be an opportunity and demand in the market as well as sustainable and scalable, with a great opportunity for growth and expansion.

 

Nawaf Al Sahhaf, CEO of Badir program for technology incubators and accelerators confirmed that since its establishment, “Badir” Training bootcamp has been a platform to support Saudi entrepreneurs in establishing new and innovative tech companies through the skills and tools they acquire in the camp. He focused on various aspects of the business world, in particular the establishment of Information and Communication Technology companies, starting from providing guidance and intensive education to participants in how companies are created and their financial affairs, as well as work plans and strategies and creating the appropriate team for new projects.

 

Al-Sahhaf said that successful projects at “Badir” Training bootcamp will be a candidate in order to obtain investment opportunities in the early stages of the project through a specific incubation period in Badir Business Accelerator program, as well as to help these projects obtain additional investments later through a large network of local and regional investors, explaining that the candidature is based on the achievement done in the project, and the seriousness of the applicant to attend and participate, and his interest in benefitting from joining the camp training.
