Twitter Brings Back Ramadan Hashflags

This week, more than 1.6 billion Muslims around the world will be observing the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.

In 2013, people from across the globe Tweeted over 74.2 million times about Ramadan, and in 2014, this number increased to more than 215 million Tweets worldwide.

Celebrate the spirit of Ramadan on Twitter with the new #Ramadan, #Eid, and #Iftar hashflags.

Use a hashtag (#) in front of the words #Ramadan, #Eid, #Iftar, #EidMubarak, and special icons will appear after those words. Use hashtags to Tweet how your neighborhood, city or even country is celebrating the month and connect with those observing and celebrating #Ramadan in all regions of the world.

Ramadan is a special month filled with celebrations among friends and family members, and we look forward to seeing how people will come together and share these special moments on Twitter.
