Turkish Airlines showcases scenic splendour
of Ordu for guests from Kuwait

Turkish Airlines, Europe’s best airline for the fifth year in a row*, organized a familiarisation trip for leading social media influencers from Kuwait to Ordu, a picturesque city in Turkey.

Regarded as Turkey’s gateway to the Black Sea, Ordu stands out for its highlands shrouded in silvery grey clouds, lush green slopes covered with hazelnut plantations, and long sandy beaches.

Yunus Akbulut, Turkish Airlines General Manager for Ordu-Giresun GM; Serhat Kahrıman, Turkish Airlines Ordu-Giresun Sales Manager; and Cemal Türk, Turkish Airlines Kuwait Marketing Executive hosted the guests.

The influencers who joined on the tour included: Farid Al Ali, Chairman at Kuwait Center for Islamic Arts; Professor Humoud Al-Qasha'an, Dean of College of Science at Kuwait University; Sadeq Ahmed Qasem, a Kuwaiti inventor, Kuwait Science and Physics Club, and the head of invention development department at Sabah Al-Ahmad Center (SAC) under the umbrella of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS), and Ghanim Al Najjar, Professor of Political Science at Kuwait University, Director of the Center for Strategic and Future Studies.

The programme included a trip to Boztepe Hills with breath-taking panoramic views from an 8-minute-long cable car ride floating above the city. The guests also visited the Ordu Ciseli Waterfall and Aybasti Persembe Upland, two of the city’s main attractions. They also met with Mr. Irfan Balkanlioglu, Governor of Ordu.

Sami Aydogan, General Manager, Turkish Airlines, Kuwait, said: “Organising such familiarisation trips is a top priority for us as its helps building relationships while showcasing the beautiful destinations that we have to offer. The three days spent here in Ordu, a scenic, must-visit destination in Turkey, was much appreciated by our guests.”

Kuwait is a centre of commerce and tourism in the GCC, and an excellent market of opportunity for Turkish Airlines. In its push for global connectivity, the airline has added several new flights to and from Kuwait, which now include destinations such as Croatia, France, Colombia and Panama, and direct flights from Kuwait to Trabzon, Bursa, Izmir and Antalya.
