DAMAC Properties, a leading luxury real estate developer in the region, today announced that golfing superstar Tiger Woods has visited the highly-anticipated golf course at AKOYA Oxygen, Trump World Golf Club Dubai.
The American professional golfer is the designer of the Trump World Golf Club Dubai - a key attraction located at DAMAC Properties’ second and upcoming master planned golf community. The golf club will also be the second in Dubai to be operated by the Trump Organization, following the Trump International Golf Club Dubai to open later this month.
Woods, who was in Dubai competing in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2017, had the opportunity to review plans with DAMAC Properties’ chairman, Hussain Sajwani and also provide design direction while touring the construction of the first few holes. Also on the site visit were members of the TGR Design team working on the 18-hole, par 72, 7,400 yard championship golf course and clubhouse facility as well as representatives from DAMAC Properties and Trump Golf.
Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President, DAMAC Properties, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Tiger Woods to see first-hand the progress on Trump World Golf Club Dubai, which is progressing as planned and is set to open in 2018. As an expert designer of the world-class golf course and as an iconic pro golfer whose experience has allowed him to play golf all over the world, Tiger Woods’ insights were invaluable in ensuring the golf course is truly world-class. He was delighted with the level of progress to date and looks forward to seeing the project advance further in the months ahead.”
DAMAC Properties has confirmed that the backbone infrastructure design has been completed and construction works are underway on the Trump World Golf Club Dubai. Once completed, it promises to be one of the most desirable championship courses to play in the world. Furthermore, it will delight avid golfers with a state-of-the-art clubhouse, world-class restaurants and an expansive pro-shop. There will also be the finest practice facilities, staffed by PGA qualified teaching professionals.
AKOYA Oxygen is a 55-million-square-foot master development that will showcase the greenest living spaces in Dubai. Home to the 18-hole championship golf course by Tiger Woods’ TGR Design, the eagerly anticipated development boasts easy access to Dubai’s major highways; yet is far enough away from the bustle of the city to offer a tranquil pace of life in a beautiful green setting.
