The New Software Update on Samsung’s Gear Fit2 Series Takes Your Training Up a Notch

The world has witnessed a sweeping trend towards fitness and healthy living in recent years, and the Middle East and Africa is no exception. In 2018, fitness industry revenue in the region will amount to USD $232 million – a figure that is expected to increase by more than a quarter in the next few years, reaching USD $292 million by 2022[1]. As people across the region continue to embrace positive trends towards health and wellness, making their fitness, nutrition, and overall wellbeing top priorities, wearables have come to the fore, accounting for more than half of fitness industry revenues and enabling consumers to take their health into their own hands.

With the region’s evolving needs for top-of-the line fitness wearables in mind, Samsung has incorporated several enhanced functions into its new Gear Fit2 and Gear Fit2 Pro. Thanks to a software update that refines the user experience from every angle, Samsung’s Gear Fit2 and Gear Fit2 Pro allow users to get more out of their workouts and meet their fitness goals with detailed-yet-concise fitness information.

Improved Training Functionality

The update makes tracking fitness goals even easier by connecting the sports bands’ new Weight Management and Fitness Program functions to your phone’s Samsung Health application. Weight Management display your daily exercise and food consumption, helping you keep tabs on calories in and calories out. Fitness Program allows you to connect your sports band to your smartphone and sync with your TV, as you access, follow, and control exercise video content from your device.

Enhanced User Experience

Several changes have been made to streamline the way information is shown. The Workout Screen is now easier to read, offering a clear view of three pieces of workout data at a time, which can be customized from options including distance traveled, calories burned, duration of an exercise, and the user’s heart rate, depending on the type of exercise. Additionally, your favorite exercises can be stored as presets on the new Multi-workouts widget, offering you speedier access to them when you’re ready to get started. What’s more, the Health Summary widget displays your total exercise for the day, so that you check your progress with one swift glance.
