The UAE’s popular leisure and tourist destination, the Al Majaz Waterfront, has been pulling all stops leaving visitors of all ages thoroughly amused and entertained at its first-ever Winter Festival, which started on 15 December. Visitors have been turning out in big numbers to enjoy the wonderful weather and a host of winter-themed activities and performances put together by the Al Majaz authorities.
In view of its successful opening and overwhelming popularity since, the festival has decided to feature a range of acrobatic and interactive shows, which will be presented by stilt walkers and comic performers on the weekend of 29 and 30 December.
On Thursday, 29 December, the festival will bring in the ‘Fantastic Flower’ team of stilt walkers, who will exhibit a colourful parade as they walk on long wooden stilts alongside the festival's walkway. The team will perform three shows, 30 minutes each, at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm.
An acrobatics team will also be in the house to amaze viewers with their masterful three-chair balancing acts, in three shows at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm.
On Friday, 30 December 30, visitors will enjoy a spectacular show by the ‘Snowman’ from the North Pole, who will interact and play with children, and take memorial photos with them. The 30-minute Snowman show will be showcased thrice at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm.
Next on the entertainment menu will be ‘Bubble Show’, in which a group of artists will enthral younger guests with life-sized colourful floating translucent spheres – using a liquid soap mixture. The 30-minute show will be held three times, at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm.
The three-week Winter Festival continues to keep visitors entertained by allowing them to enjoy a feeling of wintry wonder, with specially installed features, including an outdoor ice rink, frosty decorations, a thrilling snow-tube ride, a cool inflatable maze, snowfalls and a fun parade among other activities designed specifically for children to enjoy an impressive experience with their families and friends.
The Winter Festival will run until January 2017 and is open to general public.
