Marking a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to embed a culture of institutional innovation, the Department of Finance in Ajman has achieved a notable global recognition by obtaining the “Certified Government Innovative Organization (CGInO)® – Three Stars” certification, awarded by the Global Innovation Institute. This achievement reflects the Department’s commitment to adopting global best practices in institutional excellence and innovation, further elevating the Emirate’s standing among leading governments in government innovation on a regional and global scale.
This recognition comes in appreciation of the Department’s implementation of advanced innovation management methodologies across its operations and services, demonstrating the maturity of its institutional practices and the dedication to implementing internationally recognised frameworks that support performance development and sustainability.
The certification highlights the Department’s adoption of an integrated governance framework that ensures alignment between innovation initiatives and its strategic objectives, alongside the application of innovation tools and methodologies that sustain continuous development in line with the highest international standards.
H.E. Marwan Ahmed Al Ali, Director General of the Department of Finance in Ajman, stated that this achievement reflects the Department’s direction of adopting innovation as a core approach in developing government financial operations. He noted that the certification is the result of sustained institutional efforts aimed at establishing a government financial ecosystem built on innovation and sustainability.
He said: “We take pride in this international recognition, which underscores our commitment to adopting best practices in institutional innovation. It fortifies our efforts to enhance the efficiency of financial resource management, improve service quality, and support the transition towards a more advanced and proactive government model ultimately contributing to economic competitiveness and achieving government excellence through agility, innovation, efficiency, and a results-driven approach, in alignment with Ajman Vision 2030.”
He added that achieving a “Three Stars” rating represents a key milestone in the Department’s journey towards institutional excellence and serves as a strong driver to continued investments in the development of innovation capabilities and strengthening integration across government entities. This, in turn, contributes to delivering sustainable added value for customers and society, while supporting comprehensive development in the Emirate of Ajman and the United Arab Emirates. He also commended the efforts of the Department’s teams whose contributions made the achievement a possibility.
Abdulrahman Saeed Qasem, Director of the Strategy and Project Management Office, at the Department of Finance in Ajman, stated that this accreditation exemplifies the integration of the Department’s innovation ecosystem through its alignment with strategic objectives and implementation of sound methodologies that deliver measurable and tangible results.
