The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is introducing a new initiative to take its cultural venues and programmes online. Launching on the ‘Abu Dhabi Culture’ social media channels, ‘CulturAll’ will see dynamic content from Manarat Al Saadiyat, Qasr Al Hosn, Berklee Abu Dhabi, Cultural Foundation, Abu Dhabi Art, Intangible and tangible heritage initiatives featured across all of DCT Abu Dhabi’s Culture Sector social media accounts.
‘CulturAll’ will help Abu Dhabi’s cultural centers, museums, landscapes and initiatives reach their audiences by transforming physical offerings into virtual ones, allowing the public to learn, discover and enjoy culture online. Cultural venues and experts will be producing content across a range of themes including traditional crafts and practices, contemporary art, historic sites, and music, specially created for viewers to consume and engage with via social media channels.
“DCT Abu Dhabi is committed to promoting and disseminating culture to the widest possible audiences. We have created ‘CulturAll’ as a way for those in Abu Dhabi, the wider UAE, and indeed across the globe to continue to learn, engage and expand horizons when it is not physically possible to visit sites” said HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman, DCT Abu Dhabi. “We strongly believe that culture is a fundamental and invaluable building block of society. Active cultural engagement not only stimulates creativity but brings us together, reinforces our collective identity, and becomes a support that we can draw upon. It is our hope that ‘CulturAll’ can aid in strengthening our sense of unity and keeping our hearts and minds open to inspiration, no matter where we are in the world.”
The interactive ‘CulturAll’ content will be curated under three themes. #CultureAllCreate will see guidelines, demos, tutorials, and instructions provided for audiences online to engage with the initiative by creating and sharing their own content. #CultureAllExplore asks audiences to explore and discover via video footage, recordings, and published materials related to DCT Abu Dhabi’s many cultural events – concerts, talks, exhibitions, festivals, conferences, etc. #CultureAllMeet is an opportunity to learn about various ideas and concepts from the experts that DCT Abu Dhabi works with from around the world, featuring sessions with artists, historians, gallerists, architects and more.
DCT Abu Dhabi core mandate is the preservation and promotion of heritage, arts and tangible and intangible culture in the emirate. Driven in large part by its efforts and initiatives, Abu Dhabi has emerged in recent years as a regional arts centre with global reach. With its implementation of an ambitious five-year cultural strategy for the emirate, DCT Abu Dhabi has focused on making culture accessible to all segments of society, encouraging cultural engagement, nurturing creativity and fostering tolerance and a shared sense of national identity. The ‘CulturAll’ initiative will make accessing Abu Dhabi’s unique cultural assets even easier, and available to ever wider audiences.
To enjoy the best that Abu Dhabi’s culture sector has to offer, wherever you are, engage with ‘CulturAll’ by following ‘Abu Dhabi Culture’ on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
