The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) held a book launch event for its new Arabic publication ‘Your Strategy Needs a Strategy at Riyadh at the Four Seasons Hotel. Authored by BCG’s global strategy experts Martin Reeves, Knut Haanæs, and Janmejaya Sinha, the book provides an insider’s view into how companies can combine various strategic approaches – when operating in multiple environments – to elevate their organization to new heights and ensure a powerful path to business success.
Martin Reeves spoke at the event and presented the publication’s comprehensive findings. More specifically, he delved into five archetypical strategies for a winning business model – classical, adaptive, visionary, shaping, and renewal – and explained the conditions under which each is appropriate, when and how to execute each one, and how to avoid common strategy traps.
A discussion also took place around the examples of obstacles faced by companies in implementing strategy, the role of culture and how evolving strategies apply to developing countries. The conversation specifically gauged strategic approaches that are most relevant to Saudi Arabia.
The panel discussion was hosted by Chad Richard, Principal at BCG Middle East and featured BCG’s consultants as panel members, which included Martin Reeves, Director of BCG’s Bruce Henderson Institute and co-author of the book, Jad Bitar, Partner & Managing Director who leads BCG Middle East healthcare practice and Dr. Alexander Türpitz, Partner & Managing Director at BCG Middle East who spearheads the Public Sector and Industrial Goods practice.
BCG’s book launch saw attendance by industry captains, which included Saudi Arabia’s business elites alongside BCG’s consultants.
“This book event presents itself at a timely manner, coinciding with Saudi Arabia’s progressive transformative agenda.” said Martin Reeves. “We hope that this book will provide insights and inspiration to business leaders aiming for success.”
