Thakher Development Company CEO: Makkah’s Hospitality Sector Sustains its Strong Performance During Hajj Season 1445

Thakher Development Company’s CEO, Eng. Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Aboudi, announced that the hospitality sector in the Holy City of Makkah sustained its strong performance during Hajj season 1445, with occupancy rates in Thakher Makkah project hotels reaching 100% for the second consecutive year.

The CEO attributed this strong performance to several factors, including exceptional service to pilgrims and early preparations to ensure the utmost comfort and satisfaction for them.

Al-Aboudi said: “We at Thakher Development Company are continuing to work on our project in line with this strong performance to meet the aspirations of investors and visitors. So far, we have developed and constructed eight 4-star hotels and hotel apartments operated by international operators, with the most recent being the delivery of units in the ‘Novotel Residences Makkah’ project to buyers.”

“Upon completion of the Thakher Makkah project, it will contain more than 39,000 rooms and 3,000 hotel apartments, with a total capacity of 144,000 beds. The project will also provide up to 36,000 permanent and seasonal job opportunities, thereby supporting and strengthening the local economy.” Al Aboudi added.

The project contributes to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious vision to host 30 million Umrah performers and six million pilgrims by 2030, and spans an area of 320,000 sqm. Upon completion, it will include about 100 land plots of various uses for hotels, residential, commercial, and service-related areas. Residential and hotel apartment units will be available in various categories, and the units will also be available for ownership.
