TGI Fridays has crowned Aljon of Dubai, UAE the best Bartender in the MENA region. The team competed at The TGI Fridays Bartender Championship yesterday where the team was asked to make the best non-alcoholic mixed drinks sponsored by Dubai Festival City and MONIN
Expert bar skills, knowledge and flair were some of the qualities exhibited by TGI Fridays’ MENA team during a range of challenges at a one-of-a-kind, high-energy event in front of four judges. The participants worked to achieve the opportunity to represent the region at TGI Fridays World Bartender Championship, which takes place in Spain this October and will see the very best international TGI Fridays mixologists compete against each other in the grand finale.
Building on the success of last year’s event, which took place at the Bawadi Mall, Al-Ain, The TGI Fridays Bartender Championship brought together the best TGI Fridays bartenders from each of the nine countries in the Middle East and North Africa in which the popular casual dining brand operates. Participants showcased their incredible beverage-serving skills at TGI Fridays store in the presence of famous Virgin Radio DJ Big Rossi and his fans.
The World Bartender Championship reflects TGI Fridays' longstanding heritage, knowledge, expertise and innovation in the beverage industry. The competition began in the late 1980s as a challenge between TGI Fridays bartenders and has since grown into a full-blown representation of the brand and its world-class bartenders. TGI Fridays Americana represented the Middle East and North Africa region.
