‘Sun never sets on Saudi relief efforts’

Commending the untiring relief efforts of Saudi Arabia, Secretary-General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization Saleh bin Hamad al-Suhaibani said that the “sun never sets on these relief efforts.”
“The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid and the National Campaign for the Assistance of Brothers in Syria are proof of the Kingdom’s care for the brothers in Syria and Yemen, as well as of its eagerness to provide aid to the whole region through the Saudi Red Crescent,” he said.
Al-Suhaibani said the center has given aid valued at $460 million to Yemen, assistance offered due to the urgent appeal by the United Nations through 70 official international and local organizations in Yemen.
A report from the King Salman Center shows the Kingdom as one of the largest supporter of international agreements and resolutions that pertain to children. In the case of Yemen, the center pledged $274 million in urgent aid to the country in April last year.
The center also provides assistance to mothers, pregnant women, children and men in Yemen through programs undertaken by the World Health Organization, and funds four immunization campaigns and two campaigns for immunization against measles and rubella.
The center, the report said, also responded to the requirement to increase surveillance and perform a more efficient data collection and analysis with regard to health issues.
