STME, the Middle East’s leading IT solutions provider and systems integrator (SI), headquartered in Dubai, won the ‘SMB Client Security Implementation of the Year’ award at the recently concluded inaugural SMB Innovation Awards.
STME received its award for the comprehensive solution utilizing Symantec Endpoint protection for Saudi Arabia’s King Saud University’s (KSU) security issues. During the implementation process, STME had to comply with a policy document which recommended guidelines, industry standards, and the utilization of available best practices to cover approximately 21,000 Endpoints. “The KSU project required a lot of consultation, coordination, and evaluation of choices, finally deciding and implementing the Symantec solution as it best fit the requirements. We are proud of our achievements in that project, and honoured with our award,’’ enthused Mr. Ayman Al Bayaa, CEO, STME.
The Symantec solution installed had a centralized management system equipped with a strong anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall protection known to eradicate mass malware. The solution was also inbuilt with a SONAR behavioural analysis that stops malicious files designed to appear legitimate, and insight reputation scoring which accurately detects rapidly mutating malware and zero-day threats. The solution’s network protection was successful in stopping most threats before they endangered any machine. In this manner STME built a robust and proactive university security system.
The SMB Innovation Awards hosted by ITP’s Channel Middle East, attracted over 80 IT leaders from the vendor, distributor, reseller and retailer communities from the Small and Medium Business (SMB) sector across the Gulf. The awards ceremony was held at the Conrad Hotel, Dubai, August 2016.
