SRSC becomes an authorized rotorcraft repair station facility in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Rotorcraft Support Company (SRSC), a subsidiary joint venture of Boeing, has been issued a certificate from the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) authorizing SRSC to perform maintenance on rotorcraft platforms and their accessories.

“The authorization of this new capability in Saudi is a major milestone for the SRSC and the local Saudi aviation industry. This certification by GACA is a significant achievement in Saudi and will open up several business opportunities in the field of rotorcraft maintenance, repairs, and overhaul; not only for Saudi Arabia aviation, but possibly for the Arabian Gulf region as well,” said Michael Knight, chief executive officer for SRSC.

“The GACA Part-145 certificate is equivalent to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) authorized repair station in the U.S. The big win here for our Saudi customers is they will no longer have to ship their rotorcraft platforms outside the Kingdom for maintenance & CMRO (Component Maintenance Repair Overhaul) support, allowing them to save time and money, so they can meet the demands of their business,” said Knight.

GACA’s Part-145 certificate allows SRSC to perform maintenance operations on Leonardo, formerly AgustaWestland, rotorcraft airframes, instrumentations and communications equipment.

Ahmed Jazzar, Boeing Saudi Arabia president and member of the board of directors for Saudi Rotorcraft Support Company said: “Saudi Arabia is a key market for Boeing. We are achieving the steps needed to further position ourselves for growth, drive decision making closer to our Saudi and regional customers, strengthen partnerships and accelerate our efforts to support the country’s future vision through local talent and achieve economic growth.”

The Saudi Rotorcraft Support Company delivers improved rotorcraft readiness in the Kingdom while lowering platform lifecycle costs and maintenance burdens.

Boeing, Alsalam Aerospace Industries (AAI), and Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI) established the Saudi Rotorcraft Support Company in 2015 to bring proven sustainment capabilities for the Kingdom’s commercial and defense rotorcraft platforms. The SRSC joint venture, located in Riyadh, provides comprehensive, in-Kingdom maintenance, repair, and overhaul support for Saudi Arabia’s diverse rotorcraft fleet.
