Space Debris Conference

The activities of the first edition of the “Space Debris” conference will begin in Riyadh, tomorrow, Sunday, under the slogan “Towards Securing the Future of the Global Space Economy,” the first in the region, in the presence of His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Agency, Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, and His Excellency the CEO of the Saudi Space Agency. Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Doreen Bogdan Martin, the Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), Artie Hola Maini, and an elite group of local and international specialists from the US space agency NASA and the European Space Agency, in addition to Japan, England, France and other countries, with the participation of more than 260 international experts and speakers from more than 50 countries.

 


The conference, organized by the Saudi Space Agency, in cooperation with the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, in partnership with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) as a content partner, aims to: To form a global platform aimed at discussing and strengthening international cooperation to confront the challenges of space debris, stressing the Kingdom’s pioneering role in this context, and enhancing communication, building partnerships and exchanging experiences between global, regional and local actors in the space sector. The conference also encourages deepening partnerships between government agencies, the private sector and institutions.

 

 The Academy, which reflects on finding innovative solutions to the challenges facing the sector, including reducing the impact of space debris.
and it's expected; The conference will culminate in transforming visions and ideas into effective actions, as the entire global space sector looks forward to the results of this pioneering space event, which will have a contribution to enhancing the Kingdom’s position in the world of peaceful space exploration, and contributing to developing and securing the future of the global space economy.
The conference will be accompanied by an exhibition of local and international companies specialized in space technologies and sciences, with the aim of introducing the dangers of space debris and increasing awareness of the rapid technical developments that contribute to addressing this challenge facing all of humanity.
