Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi organised the “Graduate Open House” for the sixth consecutive year. This event took place on Wednesday April 18 at the Atrium, on the university campus in Al Reem Island. A large number of students, professors and professionals participated in this event, where they had the opportunity to meet with the university’s management, administration and faculty members as well as the available programmes.
The Graduate Open House comes in line with the university’s commitment to offer the best education to its students and help them during their academic and professional journeys. This event aims to attract the most talented candidates and give them the chance to learn new skills and develop their knowledge. The event included a number of interactive panel discussions with the heads of master’s programmes.
On this occasion, Dr. Fatima Al Shamsi, Deputy Vice Chancellor at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi said: “We are pleased to welcome students interested in our programmes and discuss their future aspirations and the importance of postgraduate programmes that we provide in achieving their professional goals. This year, we have launched our latest addition to the graduate programmes, the Master of Science in International Air Transport Operations Management. The objective of this programme is to prepare and train the next generation of aviation professionals who will tackle the future challenges faced by the global aviation and aeronautical industries. The Masters of Science in International Air Transport Operations Management offers students a two-year comprehensive learning programme to develop expertise in aeronautical and aviation engineering, operations, law and social environment, economics and project management. Students will study in both Abu Dhabi and Toulouse to give them valuable international experience”.
Mr. Fares Al Kaabi, one of the participants of the Graduate Open House at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi said: “The Sorbonne University is known to be one of the most prestigious universities around the world; it is an achievement and an honor for the UAE to have such opportunity in our country. This is a great advantage for people who seeks to pursue their higher education dream”.
More over and following to the announcement of the UAE-France Cultural Dialogue 2018 earlier this year, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi offers the Master’s degree in teaching French as a foreign language, designed for students interested in upgrading their skills and broaden their knowledge to teach French in Arabic-speaking countries. The demand for teachers of French is expected to rise in the country as many schools in the UAE have already started introducing French as an optional language for students to enrich their multi-language skills.
