Sony Professional will introduce future 4K security opportunities

Sony emphasises its commitment to redefining image clarity standards for the security industry. At Intersec 2015, Sony will introduce the future of 4K security technology and how current and future technologies can be integrated in in a security environment. The company will also display the latest cameras in addition to its existing line up of fixed network cameras demonstrating its continued innovation in the video security sector.

4K is the latest evolution in imaging technology. With a resolution four times higher than Full HD (1080p) resolution, this technology provides a multitude of benefits. It can be used in the security industry to drive new levels of image clarity and provide new opportunities for demanding security applications, allowing security professionals to monitor large areas in great detail with a single camera. Users will be able to monitor entire scenes, as well as dynamically cropping the image to focus on multiple specific areas of interest. Explore the future of video security and the part 4K will have to play in this.
“We at Sony believe that 4K will be the next resolution standard in the security industry,” says Aydin Tolan, Business Head, Visual Security Solutions, Sony Professional Solutions MEA. “Intersec 2015 provides us a great platform to demonstrate our innovations in the 4K space, as well as its benefits in video security. With major projects and infrastructure development taking place across the UAE, such as the EXPO 2020 and Dubai’s smart city initiative, we are keen to be part of the conversation when it comes to the latest security solutions.”

A key product Sony will be featuring at Intersec 2015 is the SNC-VB632D Full HD infrared bullet camera, the latest addition to its outdoor camera range. The SNC-VB632D employs the newly adopted Dual Light system with infrared (IR) illuminator and white LED, working as an effective deterrent and allowing clear visibility under dark conditions in either black and white or colour. With the Dual Light system, the SNC-VB632D is the ideal all-in-one camera for transportation and city surveillance in complex environments.

Sony has specialized security cameras for transportation requirements. With excellent image coverage under challenging lighting conditions and moving environments, Sony’s W, V and XSeries are suited to all transportation needs, keeping travelers safe on- board, and traffic flowing smoothly. These include the SNC-XM632/636/637 on-board minidome IP cameras, which provide Full HD picture quality in a compact frame; SNC-WR602 high-performance rapid dome network camera, designed for dependable round-the-clock performance with high frame rate and powerful optical zoom; and SNC-VB630 fixed network camera featuring Sony’s award winning IPELA ENGINE EX processing platform and Full HD imaging quality.

On the other hand, the SNC-VB635 and SNC-WR632C are ideally suited for general city surveillance. With Full HD image quality, advanced analytics and high frame rate recording, every scene captured by the SNC-VB635 looks clearer, sharper and more detailed – even in challenging low-light conditions or with harsh backlighting where other cameras struggle. Extra intelligence is added by DEPA Advanced Intelligent Video Analytics that can intelligently trigger an alarm based on user-defined rules. The SNC-WR632C comes equipped with a sensitive, high-resolution Exmor™ CMOS sensor and Sony’s new IPELA ENGINE PRO™ processing platform, bringing superior image processing at Full HD resolution. The camera is designed for dependable round-the-clock performance in demanding outdoor environments; the unitised camera can operate in temperatures from -40°C to +50°C, and is IP66/IK10 rated to resist weather and unwelcome tampering by vandals.

Sony’s new XI’s Wide Area Monitoring System is an innovative ‘all-in-one’ solution for video surveillance of very large sites. Monitoring and surveillance of large areas like airports, shipping terminals, borders and industrial facilities is no simple task. The system’s clever two-camera design lets you see the big picture, and get the all-important details at the same time. This system will be on demo for the first time at Intersec.

In addition to security solutions, Sony is showcasing its latest VPL-GTZ1 projector, designed for a range of B2B and commercial applications including museums, design simulation, fashion, oil and gas, simulation and training, corporate, education and video wall applications. The VPL-GTZ1 combines the best of projector technologies – 4K, laser light source and ultra-short throw capabilities – into one model. Its stylish, “blend-in” design fits nearly any room décor and installation environment, and a low fan noise ensures quiet operation that won’t disrupt presentations. The new model’s flexible installation and operation allow it to be floor-standing, ceiling-mounted or used for rear projection.

Sony will be located at stand SA-B18 in Sheikh Saeed Hall, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
