Shaza Al Madina celebrated its female employees on International Women’s Day at a ceremony held in the Silk Lounge. Attended by the hotel’s female employees from different departments along with the hotel’s top management, the ceremony aimed to highlight the hotel management’s continuous support and trust in the female staff.
General Manager of Shaza Al Madina Mr. Amjad Irshaidat commented: “Shaza Al Madina derives its culture from Islamic heritage, which raises the status of women and values their potential. We took International Women’s Day as an opportunity to show our female employees the appreciation and pride that is continually reflected in the hotel’s operations and practices. All year long, we seek to create an effective and positive environment for each female employee, regardless of her position, her occupational duties, or her social circumstances. We offer them support and flexibility and we trust their competence in the workplace.”
“Although our role mainly involves the tourism and hospitality sector in Madinah and our contributions towards realizing the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to enhance the services provided to pilgrims, we are also pleased to contribute to the strategic objective that focuses on increasing women’s participation in the job market and giving Saudi women opportunities while ensuring their rights.”
Mr. Irshaidat added that Shaza Al Madina has 28 female employees who have proven their efficiency and dedication; in fact, around 85 percent of the employees working in the hotel’s reception and reservation department are women.
He went on to say: “We strive to continually enhance the relationship between the hotel and its female employees to nurture a reciprocal relationship characterized by a sense of giving and belonging from both sides. This is the
secret behind maintaining a comfortable environment for female employees, as they receive the right support and attention in order to advance in their careers while maintaining their personal lives.”
During the ceremony, the employees were honored by Irshaidat amid the lavish atmosphere of the Silk Lounge, which is characterized by its luxury and privacy for businessmen and women and VIP guests staying on the three silk floors of the hotel. The Silk Lounge features meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology, in addition to exceptional services and special requests, including innovative food and beverage options, for guests who visit Madinah for religious tourism or business trips.
