SHARON STONE HEADS THE LAUNCH OF GALDERMA’S CAMPAIGN

TO DEMONSTRATE NATURAL-LOOKING RESULTS OF AESTHETIC TREATMENTS IN REAL LIFE

Galderma challenges misconceptions that aesthetic treatments create extreme results by proving the subtle results in real life

• Ten sets of identical twins participated, with one sibling from each pair undergoing treatments with Restylane fillers and/or Restylane Skinboosters

• The comparable results were shown at a Proof in Real Life event hosted by Sharon Stone and leading practitioner Per Hedén

• Sharon Stone is the first celebrity to endorse an aesthetic brand to increase openness and understanding of aesthetic treatments, and the natural-looking results they can create

DUBAI, June 2015: Sharon Stone has unveiled the natural-looking results of Restylane fillers and Restylane Skinboosters in a unique real-life format in Berlin, Germany.

The Galderma Proof in Real Life campaign launch event saw ten sets of identical twins take part in a unique challenge. One twin from each pair received a bespoke treatment plan which consisted of treatments with Restylane fillers, Restylane Skinboosters, or a combination of both.

Over 100 of the world’s leading media and beauty representatives attended the unveiling hosted by Sharon Stone. The twins took part in a live reveal to demonstrate the natural-looking results first-hand and challenge the wide-spread misconception that aesthetic treatments create extreme results.

Despite some initial scepticism from some of the twins, 100 per cent of those untreated are now considering treatments for themselves. Commenting on her sister’s experience, untreated twin Zoe Spink, aged 62 said, “I am very interested in skin care and have reached an age now where I feel I need a little help. I have seen my sister’s skin getting better and better so I cannot wait to begin my own treatment course.”

More than 23 million people underwent aesthetic treatments globally in 2013. Many more are curious but are concerned that such treatments can produce extreme and unnatural results. James Martin, a 37-year-old musician, was one of the twins who received Restylane filler treatments and said, “I had never considered facial fillers and I was a bit worried they would dramatically alter my face. The experience has totally changed the way I view them; the results were subtle but made such a difference. Since seeing the results first hand, my twin brother, as well as many of my friends, are considering treatments.”

Global beauty and entertainment icon, Sharon Stone, signed on to the Proof in Real Life campaign to help Galderma challenge common misconceptions of aesthetic treatments. Sharon said, “It’s been a fascinating experience to follow the twins’ journeys and to be with them tonight as they showcase the results in real life. So many people are put off aesthetic treatments because of extreme images, and the Proof in Real Life campaign has provided results people have been able to see first-hand, giving them an opportunity to judge for themselves.”

Restylane products use a component found in the human body called hyaluronic acid and Galderma uses a unique technology to incorporate this ingredient, meaning it differs only slightly from the body’s own natural hyaluronic acid, for natural-looking aesthetic treatments. Restylane filler treatments provide instant results to reduce lines, folds and wrinkles, and create fuller lips, while enhancing contours and facial volume. The effects of the treatment can last up to 12 months depending on the treated area. Restylane Skinboosters are designed to deliver lasting moisturisation and are clinically proven to improve skin quality, skin hydration, elasticity and firmness on the face, neck, hands, and décolletage, as well as reducing skin roughness.

Anne-Sophie Copin, Global Head of Skin Rejuvenation Aesthetics and Corrective at Galderma, said: “The aim of this campaign is to break down the current misconceptions of aesthetic treatments and show the subtle and natural-looking results of Restylane fillers and Restylane Skinboosters. The live event in Berlin provided the perfect platform to demonstrate these results in a real life format and will help to empower more people to make an informed decision when considering aesthetic treatments. We know people want to look the way they feel – and we believe this campaign proves they can with the help of Restylane’s natural-looking results.”

*More on Hyaluronic acid:

The Restylane gels resemble your body’s own Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is one of nature’s most versatile substances. It has many functions, including giving our skin elasticity and volume. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in many organisms.
