Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation Launches Children’s Summer Camp

Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation (SWSF) has announced the launch of its annual Summer Camp from 2 July to 31 August to keep schoolchildren fit and healthy during the hottest months of the year.

Taking place from Sunday-Thursday, 9am-1pm, at the SWSF indoor complex and fields, the camp will feature an array of exciting sporting events from basketball, football and volleyball to table tennis, karate and archery. The children will also be offered a cultural programme to help them learn about their heritage, and experience hands-on learning that is very different to a classroom environment.

This year's camp provides a wide spectrum of options and entertainment, tailored to suit different ages and preferences, including external trips to some of Sharjah’s most impressive archaeological sites and tourist landmarks.

Speaking about the summer camp, Nada Askar Al Naqbi, Director General of SWSF, said: “We want to offer the children the best possible conditions to improve on their favourite sports and explore new ones, while providing a range of diverse cultural events that will opens a new window into their understanding of the world around them. We are delighted to offer a programme that combines knowledge, pleasure and fun.

“These events are designed specifically to encourage children to practice sports and enable them to reach their potential through activities and content which is different from previous years.”
