Sharjah International Airport distributes Thousands of Iftar meals on daily basis to fasting passengers and customers during the Holy Month of Ramadan this year.
In line with the initiative, “Your Iftar is on us!”, aiming at embracing the values of the Holy Month of spiritual ambiance and sublime meanings.
The initiative is part of the activities organised by the airport during the Year of Giving which is also in line with the values of giving, deeply ingrained in the UAE culture, particularly during the Blessed Month. Sharjah International Airport is the main entry point to the Emirate, and a place where the first impression is made for visitors about what hospitality they may expect during their stay.
His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “Our passengers’ comfort is always a priority for us and special attention is given to fasting people during Ramadan. Daily Iftar meals are distributed in line with our deep rooted Emirati traditions and in compliance with the teachings of our Islamic religion regarding the provision of food to fasting people”.
He added: “The initiative is part of our strategy and social role in creating a good impression for travelers about the meaning of Ramadan”.
Providing food to fasting people is one of the annual initiatives carried out by the airport during Ramadan. Airport employees distributed Iftar meals to departing passengers, and received arriving passengers with Arabic Coffee, Dates and Water. The Airport Terminal Building was also decorated to bring about the ambiance of Ramadan to Travelers in the airport.
