His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, visited the Sharjah Government pavilion at GITEX Technology Week 2018, being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre until October 18, 2018.
Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Ruler's Office, accompanied by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development, also visited the Sharjah pavilion.
The distinguished personalities were presented with an explanation by Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Director General of the Department of e-Government Sharjah (DeG), and Noor Al Noman, Director of DeG, detailing about the latest innovations of the Sharjah Government in its goal of achieving full digital transformation.
Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Director-General of (DeG) Sharjah, said:“We are pleased with the technological strides demonstrated at the Sharjah pavilion, from online and digital services to smart applications that have been developed to bolster customer satisfaction and convenience. Technology is a key enabler in realising full digitisation in Sharjah.
“This year’s edition enabled government entities to make many qualitative leaps. These will gain further traction in the coming years and we are committed to moving in tune with the international developments in this field.”
Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Government Relations Department and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Digital Transformation in Sharjah, said: “We are proud to be part of these remarkable technological achievements achieved by our government entities covering all the different areas in Sharjah.

The Sharjah pavilion features the participation of 36 of Sharjah’s government departments and entities. They will unveil many new online and digital services, initiatives and applications, which will streamline procedures and offer customers access to advanced services anytime, anywhere.
