The Sharjah Bridal Fair (SBF) presented a variety of fashion shows by celebrated Emirati and international designers, showcasing an outstanding collection of world-class wedding dresses and premium garments that appeal to modern women.
The parades were held as part of the second edition of the Sharjah Bridal Fair (SBF 2017), which was held between 3-6 May, at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (JRCC), to offer the latest fashion trends and event planning for high-end wedding parties for brides-to-be.
The first catwalk was conducted by Ghizlan Fashion House, which is owned by Emirati designer Iman Al Midfa, known for fusing western and Emirati styles. It featured the 2017 spring/summer collection of women’s garments with a combination of gold and pastel colours and glamorous tropical decorations, including modern twists tailored to suit modern women.
Iman Al Midfa’s fashion collection highlighted her unrivalled design experience that has enabled her to blend casual business clothes with an elegance that reflects women’s taste in terms of colours and textiles along with streamlined design and fabric length.
Best known for her unique pattern-print materials and authentic embroidered patterns, Al Midfa’s colours reflect her identity in styles that focus on fun, practical and modern design, featuring shiny colours varying between gold and blue.
The ‘Al Arosa Al Aniqa Show’ took the audience on a journey from the atmosphere of casual and vibrant fashion designs to the luxurious royal wedding ambience. An outstanding collection of wedding dresses reflected the designers’ vision about how a bride-to be can look on her big day, with a princess appearance that increases her self-confidence throughout her wedding party.
The show featured a collection of luxury white wedding dresses, with a striking splendor that best suits Gulf and Arab brides-to-be. They were clearly characterised by their length, long veils and headwear accessories.
The event revealed the ability of designers to take advantage of the history of Western fashion, where the long dress has traditionally been a symbol of luxury and wealth. The collection of the wedding dresses reflected this clear Western touch.
The designs varied from highly decorated dresses with bright colours to others which were branded by simplicity and the use of soft materials and less decorations. The collection featured dresses with beads, lace, and those which were simple, soft and smoothly streamlined.
The catwalk show also featured different options of hairstyle and make-up designed to appeal to today’s brides. The event’s beauty sponsor, Royal Beauty House provided all the details and bridal hair styling tips that the brides believe will enhance their appearance on the big day.
