L’Oréal Middle east held the fourth edition of Citizen Day staying true to its theme ‘I Feel Good to Do Good, We All Have a Role to Play.’ For the first time, all the subsidiaries, L’Oréal Middle East, L’Oréal UAE and L’Oréal KSA marked their involvement in this noble cause uniting all L’Oréal employees in a bid to have them give back to the community thus gaining a sense of responsibility towards people in need and working towards transforming Citizen Day into Citizen Year.
Since its launch, Citizen Day has become a commitment whereby the group’s employees from across the world engage in social outreach activities. The aim is to inspire, engage and motivate everyone at L’Oréal with a sense of commitment to those in need.
On the 25th of August, L’Oréal Middle-east partnered with humanitarian organization, Emirates Red Crescent, to provide 600 boxes containing basic necessary food and hygiene products to be distributed to neighboring countries in need. The packing was done at the Al Noor Training Center for Children with Special Needs where more than 250 employees from both L’Oréal Middle East and L’Oréal UAE joined forces and invested more than 500 volunteer hours in giving back to the community.
Before that, on the 3rd of August, L’Oréal KSA participated in its first edition of Citizen Day in partnership with Help Center Jeddah, a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the quality of life of individuals with intellectual disabilities. 30 volunteers from L’Oréal KSA helped in renovating the center where 350 students will be welcomed in the fall session investing more than 60 volunteer hours in repainting the center’s classrooms, doing basic carpentry and fixing electricity thus immensely improving the area where students would be spending most of their time.
Thierry Houssin, Managing Director of L’Oréal Middle East said: “I am extremely proud of the group’s commitment to the annual Citizen Day event. It is a day of great significance for us, and each year we put in a lot of effort to make it a success. The outreach activities on this day encourage a spirit of community and service before self. This year, L’Oréal Middle east held its fourth edition of Citizen Day in Dubai, and I am very happy that both L’Oréal UAE and L’Oréal KSA were able to participate for the first time. I look forward to the continuous development of L’Oréal Middle East as a contributing corporate citizen with an active social conscience and engaged employees-turned-ambassadors of goodwill.”
