The Saudi Digital Library (SDL) will host an excellence award ceremony for the scientific output of Saudi universities next Saturday.
Based on the keenness of the SDL to acquire and provide for the productivity of faculty members, researchers and students, SDL has established the “Excellence Award for the Scientific Production of Saudi Universities in the International Databases.”
It is an annual award designed for Saudi universities, faculty members and postgraduate students to support excellence in Saudi scientific production published in international scientific journals.
The SDL seeks to create an active environment for scientific research, creativity and innovation, and motivate Saudi universities to lead globally in scientific production in line with Vision 2030. The award aims to motivate university members to use databases, which will achieve the best use of digital sources available in the SDL.
The award highlights the role of distinguished participants in Saudi scientific production and supports their contributions to society, raises positive competition in the field of scientific publishing among faculty members, researchers and post-graduate students, encourages motivation to excellence in scientific production published in the scientific journals for the members of the Saudi universities, raises awareness of the SDL role in supporting scientific production, increases the use of digital information sources available in the SDL and develops scientific research outputs of the universities quantitatively and qualitatively by encouraging publishing in prestigious scientific journals to achieve global dissemination.
The ceremony includes three morning workshops in addition to the evening online training workshops.
The excellence award includes three categories, including the SDL award for the top universities in using the digital information sources; the SDL award of Saudi scientific production published in the international databases (Web of Science ISI) and the SDL award of Saudi scientific production published in the international databases (Scopus).
