Saudi Central Bank and Council of Cooperative Health Insurance Announce Approving New Travel Insurance Product for Saudis Travelling Abroad

The Saudi Central Bank and the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance announced approving new travel insurance product for Saudi citizens travelling abroad that includes benefits cover Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection’s risks.
The new product aims at providing the needed insurance coverage for citizens travelling abroad to ensure smooth access to appropriate health care by insureds who are infected with COVID-19 during their travel abroad. The product also provides coverage for life-threatening medical cases in various countries around the world and travel-related risks including quarantine procedures, canceling or missing trips, medical expenses and medical evacuation in cases of emergency.
An approval was also issued for the Tawuniya Insurance Company to offer this product through a common insurance pool, in order to facilitate citizens' access to this insurance policy via a unified mechanism through available various sales channels.
The Saudi Central Bank and the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance urge the public to follow precautionary and preventive measures during their travel and to abide by the instructions issued by the competent authorities, wishing safety for all.
