Saudi Arabia, UAE boost cooperation as multiple joint projects announced

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates outlined a unified vision aimed at boosting the two nations’ global stature by announcing 44 joint projects. 

The strategic partnership seeks to move the two allies closer on economic and security grounds as well as developing better living standard for citizens.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed chaired the first meeting of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council in Jeddah on Thursday.

During the meeting, the structure of the coordination council was announced with the aim of boosting the joint cooperation on the implementation of projects.

A five-year implementation time frame was also announced for strategic projects.

The aim of the council is to promote Saudi-Emirati stature on the global stage in a number of areas including the economy, political affairs, human development and security, as well as ensuring citizen welfare and happiness.

Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince said that the two countries have an opportunity to create an exceptional Arab model of cooperation. He said the solidarity and unity between Saudi Arabia and the UAE “protects our interests and strengthens our economies and builds a better future for our citizens”.

Earlier, the Saudi crown prince received Prince Mohammed, who is also the UAE’s Deputy commander of the armed forces, at Jeddah airport.
