The virtual Yemen High-Level Pledging Event 2020 starts here today. The event is organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with the United Nations.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia delegation to the event is headed by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and includes Adviser at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, and a number of officials.
More than 126 parties, including 66 countries, 15 international organizations, 3 intergovernmental organizations and more than 39 non-governmental organization, will participate in the event, in addition to the Islamic Development Bank, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Cross Societies.
The event aims to raise awareness of the humanitarian situation in Yemen and calls for the contribution of the international community to meet the United Nations Humanitarian Response Plan in Yemen for the year 2020, and support the urgent humanitarian needs there.
The organization of the Yemen High-Level Pledging Event 2020 confirms the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support Yemen and lift the human suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia calls on the donors to take the initiative and support the efforts aimed at the success of this humanitarian event by standing with Yemen and its people.
