Saudi Arabia has affirmed its commitment to supporting cultural diversity at a speech during a high-level meeting organized by the UN General Assembly.
The speech, delivered by Sarah Ashour as part of Saudi Arabia’s permanent delegation to the UN, outlined that the Kingdom is embarking on its national cultural strategy with a firm and deep belief in the importance of studies and research to advance the cultural sector at a sustainable pace.
Ashour said that cultural communication in all its forms contributes to highlighting the aesthetics of diversity that the world abounds in today in its ideas, customs and heritage.
She said that to ensure the continuation of this positive trend, there is an urgent need to support artists and cultural practitioners.
