In recognition of his leadership achievements in the region, Samir Cherfan, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East was honored with a coveted ‘Global Meets Local’ Award, by Forbes Middle East.
The event, which recently took place at Waldorf Astoria – Palm Jumeirah, celebrated the top 100 senior executives heading global corporate powerhouses in the MENA region. Samir Cherfan was awarded the 22nd position in the overall ranking, and the 1st place in the automotive category, celebrating the leadership that is driving Nissan to be the fasted growing automotive brand in this region.
Commenting on this award, Cherfan said: “It is with great honor that we accept this prestigious award from Forbes Middle East in recognition of securing No.1 spot in the automotive category at its ‘Global Meets Local’ Awards. The award’s criteria were a lot tougher this year so we are thrilled to have achieved this result. Receiving this affirmation of Nissan’s hard work and success in the Middle East is testament to it becoming the fastest growing automotive brand in the region for three years in a row.”
The ranking recognizes business leaders such as Cherfan who are not only driving their organizations forward but steering economies at a national, regional and global level towards prosperity. The ranking highlights the significance of the MENA region to global organizations, and presents the companies’ top executives on the global corporate stage.
Nissan has also recently celebrated receiving the Silver Effie award for its popular sub-compact crossover Nissan Juke in the automotive segment for the “Take a Stand” campaign. The total number of points eared from the shortlists and the silver award are 26, giving Nissan the lead in the automotive segment and making it the Most Effective Automotive Brand in the MENA region for the fourth year in a row.
