Royal Jordanian Airlines Launches Nonstop Flights from Riyadh to Aqaba, Creating a New Gateway to Tourism in Jordan, in cooperation with ASEZA

Royal Jordanian Airlines is pleased to announce the launch of new nonstop flights between King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh and King Hussein International Airport (AQJ) in Aqaba, commencing 17 September, 2026 with two weekly flights.

The new route will provide travelers from the KSA with direct and convenient access to Aqaba, Jordan’s gateway to the Red Sea and one of the country’s most distinctive tourism destinations. The operation will further enhance connectivity to Jordan while opening new opportunities for travelers to discover Aqaba and explore the diverse experiences Jordan has to offer.

The launch is supported by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), reinforcing the shared commitment to promoting Aqaba as a leading regional tourism destination and strengthening its position as an accessible gateway to Jordan.

The launch of this route forms part of Royal Jordanian’s broader tourism strategy, driven by ExploRJordan, an initiative designed to position Jordan as a must-visit destination for travelers from around the world. Through ExploRJordan, Royal Jordanian aims to showcase Jordan beyond its iconic landmarks, highlighting its diverse experiences, authentic hospitality, and hidden gems.

From the Red Sea and vibrant atmosphere of Aqaba to the ancient wonders of Petra, the spectacular landscapes of Wadi Rum, the unique experience of the Dead Sea, and the cultural and urban energy of Amman, ExploRJordan invites travelers to discover more of Jordan, beyond the expected.
