Riyadh Spring Festival attracts 150,000 visitors

More than 150,000 people have visited the Riyadh Spring Festival during its first two days.

Organized by the Riyadh municipality, the festival, which is being held in two places in the capital, was inaugurated by Riyadh Mayor Ibrahim bin Mohammed Sultan on Monday.
The venues of the show are Al-Bijairi Quarter in Al-Diraiyyah and Al-Jazirah District at Exit 16.
A collection of 1.4 million flowers of 10 different varieties were designed and decorated to give visitors a cozy and natural environment.
The mayor said the major goal of the festival is to provide an opportunity for families to spend their leisure time happily. It also depicts the natural resources available at this time of the year in the Kingdom. 
Awareness programs of the festival include activities aimed at spreading a culture of loving and caring for trees.
He pointed out that a special carpet has been made here in dedication to the soldiers who are guarding the country in the south. “These soldiers deserve this tribute because of their sacrifices made in the field,” the mayor said, urging people to pray for them to continue their work successfully in guarding the nation.
The festival mainly focuses on displaying an array of flowers, ornamental plants, gardens, designing and landscaping, and landscape architecture through the participation of specialized authorities and companies which are presenting their expertise in the relevant fields.
