The largest and fastest-growing value healthcare provider in the region, has received more than 10,000 blue-collar workers at its free weekend medical camps conducted every Friday at over 30 clinics across the country. Since January 2019, the healthcare provider has screened workers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman as part of the initiative that aims to create health awareness among blue-collar workers and motivate them to adopt a healthy lifestyle and wholesome habits.
As primary breadwinners, blue-collar workers remit most of their earnings back to their home countries to pay for their families’ living expenses, education and healthcare. Low income workers are often unable to access basic healthcare. Awareness sessions help to educate and inform these workers and ensure a lasting positive impact on their health and well-being.
Prevention leads to fewer hospital visits, better attendance records at work and improve the ability of the workers to support themselves and their loved ones. Collectively, these outcomes translate into a healthier, happier, more productive workforce and bring manifold benefits.
Right Health’s trained staff comprising doctors and nurses facilitate the outreach and health awareness sessions. Some of the check-ups offered to the workers include blood pressure and diabetes screening, and measuring the body mass index (BMI), as well as complimentary medical consultations.
Held in partnership with leading corporates in the country, the camps are conducted in Right Health clinics, situated in labor accommodations, as well in mobile camps set up within company premises. The medical camps hosted via mobile clinics attract over 80 patients on average, while the camps at the Right Health clinics draw 200 patients.
Corporate partners include, Masafi, Arab Tech, Bateel, KHK Scaffoldings, Al Salam city, First Security, Transguard, B6, Al Habtoor, Agility and many more.
The interactive healthcare sessions and lectures include topical issues such as stress at work, anxiety and depression, personal hygiene and healthy habits. They are aimed at not only a positive impact on overall health and well-being, but also enhance workplace efficiency.
Shainoor Khoja, Chief Impact Officer of Right Health, said: “Access to primary healthcare for all is a critical factor that cannot be compromised and should be the basic right of all human beings.
