Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature(WWF). The event is held annually encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on a specific day towards the end of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet in order to raise awareness for energy consumption and effects on the environment.
“As we believe in corporate social responsibility towards power conservation and increasing awareness on the threat of climate changes, we in Red Sea Mall contributed to the Earth Hour, in a step to encourage individuals and corporations to switch off the lights and any electronics to be part of this global act to help in saving energy for the future generations to come”, Said Eng. Al Rayan Gadouri, General Manager of Red Sea Mall.
Furthermore, several shops at Red Sea Mall and the cinema Plaza also had their share in switching off the lights and was part of the Earth Hour. It is noted that Red Sea Mall has participated in the Earth Hour for the past four years consequently and positively interacted towards this global cause.
